This collection reflects Ray’s vision of the harmony of cultures; the richness of the Native American heritage and the beauty of the Japanese traditions. The symbols used in these exquisite pieces include motifs of the traditional Samurai costume and of the Southwest landscape. The flower reminds us of the sun majestically rising over the desert. Ray’s “sword, feather and corn” designs combine the Samurai sword symbolizing the Samurai spirit, the eagle feather representing spiritual blessing, and the corn, which is the Navajo symbol of life.
